Spawn – Herring and Kelp Diptych

Spawn translates the annual natural phenomenon of herring spawning along the BC coastal waters into laser cut stainless steel. Millions of eggs are released into the ocean and attach themselves to sea kelp creating an important food source that attracts a vast array of wildlife. Spawn pays homage to the ecological significance of nature’s interconnected coastal ecosystem.
